Hussaini Aliyu Takuma, the Manager of a farm in Abuja, had been killed and his corpse dumped in a well by his workers.

The deceased was declared missing on June 2, 2022, after leaving his house to his farm; Takuma’s Zoo Farm, located in the Jeida community of Kuje Area Council of the FCT. His body was later found in a well in the same area.

According to Umar Sambo, the Divisional Police Officer of the command, the suspects have since been apprehended, and the investigation is ongoing. The case file was handed over to O/C anti-kidnapping, FCT Command, on directives of the Commissioner of Police.

“On June 4, a 44-year-old man, Zakari Hassan Takuma, of Area 7 Garki Abuja, came to Kuje Police station and reported that on June 2, his brother, Hussaini Aliyu Takuma, 32, of the same address, visited his farm at Jeda in Kuje, but did not return,” he was quoted as saying.

“On receipt of the complaint, detectives tracked 20-year-old Umar Mohammed, a worker on the farm, and his friend, Ibrahim Yusuf, 18, who was seen at Kabusa on their way to Kano with rustled cattle,” he added.

After the investigation, it was discovered that the animals belonged to the deceased. Ephraim Mbaiga, a 28-year-old worker on the farm, had been arrested along with the other suspects.

The farm’s security guard, Usman Sanu, and his wife have absconded from duty and are still at large.

The mutilated corpse of the victim had been identified by his brother and had since been buried according to Islamic rites.
