Catfishing. Trolling. Cyberbullying. Those are the stuff that makes Arewa Twitter. And recently, we have new ones. Pornography and sexting.
And no, not the sexting and sharing of nudes in the DMs. That is a story for another day. Full grown-up talks about sex, style positions, and techniques.
Recently, Twitter spaces have been a hotbed of so many activities. From politics talk, career enhancement, and relationship arguments.
But Kankanaty had other ideas.
Why not use them to promote pornography? After all, she had the reputation and the followers. Her 90k followers quickly agreed.
Hence, the ‘Bare It All’ space was born. At its peak, the space had over 200 listeners, with Kankanty calling the shots.
It wasn’t long until Arewa Twitter descended on her and her pack of followers. She was accused of promoting ‘immorality’ and ‘filth’. According to one user, she had turned Arewa Twitter to ‘Onlyfans’, the content subscription platform popular amongst pornographers.
But Kankanty wasn’t going down alone. After all, other people fuelled her rise and encouraged her. So she did the next most logical thing.
Leak her DMs.
That was when the despicable questions asked by users were discovered. She was just the firewood, and others were the fuel. The whole of #ArewaTwitter joined in condemning her acts and her fellow conspirators.
After all, that wasn’t what Arewa Twitter is known for. They are also known for charity works, matchmaking intending couples, and voicing against injustice and insecurity.

How Christian Hausa Names Are Formed
As Christians, there are certain things that you need to consider when naming your children. One of the biggest things is the name itself. For our Christian Hausa names, we have searched the Christian Hausa Bible, Old Testament, and the New Testament to pick out meaningful names that best serve each individual’s needs.
Christian Hausa names are quite different from the typical Western ones. They often have meanings, and they have a Christian or religious connotation.
They are also unique, and they are often given to children. Some Hausa Christian names are derived from Biblical names, while others are derived from names that have a Christian meaning.
Most Christian Hausa names are composed of a first name and a middle name. The first name is the name used by the person, and the middle name is their father’s first name. For example, if a person’s first name is John, their middle name would be Audu. Girls are normally in the form of a name followed by a given name. This is because there are two ways for a girl to receive a name in the Hausa culture. She can be named after her father, as a girl is expected to take her father’s name, or she can receive a name from her mother.
Boys’ names in Hausa tradition include names such as Mai Kudi, Maina, and Tijani. Mai Kudi is a traditional Hausa name meaning “possessing wealth.” Maina means “Prince.” Tijani means “gift.”
Conclusion
The decision to choose Christian Hausa names for your babies, whether it is religious or from a native or blending purpose, always remember that names are classical and can be a source of inspiration for your child once they grow older.
So always choose a meaningful name that will motivate them when they know the history behind their name.

Fati Washa is a renowned Kannywood actress who has acted in several movies and even some series.
Fati Washa started her acting career in 2014 with the movie Raliya. Her first breakthrough was in the movie ‘Ya Daga Allah’ which made her popular. Since then, she has starred in over 100 movies and won several awards.
Since 2020, Fati Washa has taken a break from acting. The last movie she saw was her role as ‘Sadiya’ in the Manyan Mata series. She has been traveling the world and living her life to the fullest.
She has been to places like Cyprus, Istanbul in Turkey, the Pyramids in Egypt, Cotonou in Benin, Sharm el Shayk in Egypt, and the Holy City of Makkah and Madina several times.
Recently, her pictures in a Holi Color festival in Cyprus, where she currently studies, along with one of the Sadau ladies, made headlines as she was accused of being ‘indecent’.
Apart from her travels and studies, she doesn’t seem to be doing much except simply relaxing and catching up with friends. She has taken a much-deserved break from the industry in the meantime.
Happily enough for her fans, she seems to be making a comeback as the replacement of Nafisa Abdullahi in the hit series Labari Na where she is already receiving great reviews for her portrayal.
Should couples continue to post their pictures online after marriage?
In this age of technology, it has become normal for couples to post their pictures online. Others even go as far as posting every single detail of their lives. Even with everyone genuinely wishing the best for you, pictures are meant to be kept for memories, not to be posted for validation from others.
If you ask anyone, no matter how happy or peaceful, marriage has its bad days, like every other aspect of life. Posting your pictures online opens you up to outside interference and unnecessary friction in your marriage.
Like a 23-year-old male in a relationship said, ‘it just invites a lot of attention that isn’t necessarily good for them, as they get lavished with compliments that might get to their heads or even worse, they start entertaining them’.
Another single male aged 27 says, ‘It’s not Islamically right and a thing of great value. It is not something everyone should have access to’.
A lady aged 22 and also single has the same opinion saying, ‘They should not because they are displaying their beauty to people who aren’t meant to see’.
A lady aged 23 and single thought that ‘As long as they are dressed responsibly in pictures, they display then she sees no problem with it’.
Another single lady aged 25 also said, ‘If you don’t post your partner, who will you post?’
Someone who wished to be kept anonymous said, ‘It is natural to want to show off how happy you are in your marriage, especially in the honeymoon phase, but in doing so, most tend to overstep their boundaries, so by all means, take pictures with your spouse but don’t put it all out there for people to see because the whole point of taking pictures is to appreciate the moment after it passes.
Most people believe as long as you follow proper decorum, it’s okay to post your pictures, while most think that whether with good intentions or not, it ends up doing more harm than good. Posting pictures after marriage also gives single and unmarried people the wrong impression that marriage is a bed of roses.
As the saying goes, ‘Not all that glitters is gold, but society tends to overlook all that, which eventually has a ripple effect and probably contributes to the rising divorce rate in northern Nigeria.
Black has always been a colour associated with negativity, as seen in books and movies where witches wear black and even pirates also use black clothes.
Even in real life, black is used for funerals. Widows in some cultures are meant to wear black for a certain period of time. Also, black is usually linked to death.
Research has shown that as opposed to the unfair assumption that black is just black, there are many shades of black like every other colour.
With the world continuously evolving, that perception is slowly changing because black is now seen as an expression of self, which has led to it being seen more as a fashion statement than the colour of doom. This naturally leads us to why black Kaftan is now on the rise in northern Nigeria.
Black Kaftan in Northern Nigeria
For years now, especially in northern Nigeria, black clothes have always been associated with Shi’ites, partly because most Northerners are skeptical about wearing a black outfit. With the continuous riots and protests caused by Shi’ites, one has to be cautious about what they wear to avoid being caught in the crossfire.
Recently, however, this is not the case. With the recent crackdown on members of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria by the Nigerian Government, the Shi’ites have opted for a subtler approach. Instead of the usual black clothes they are known for wearing, they now reserve the black clothes for only special occasions like the Ashura annual processions. On other days, they wear regular clothes just like everyone else.
This naturally means that other people are now open to wearing black kaftans without fearing being judged as white by the public. This, and the black colour’s versatility, not to forget its durability and resistance to dirt, means youths across northern Nigeria are now wearing black kaftans. It is not uncommon to go to an Eid praying ground and see many young men wearing their black kaftans confidently.
Who knew black was this beautiful? After all, black has always been one of the most loved colors, especially amongst men. There are other colours men should stop wearing, but black is not one of them.
Fashion is always evolving, so I can safely say wearing black is a rising fashion trend that may not last. Though with how good it looks, I sure hope it does.
