History of Southern Kaduna Names

Even though some of these southern Kaduna names appear to have nice meanings, the Hausa meaning is entirely different.

My coursemate in ABU, Bintu Mutuwa, told us that Mutuwa means blessing and wealth from where she is, while in Hausa, Mutuwa signifies death.

Bakam, the same as Allah nan and fairly close to God’s time, signifies that God will always be there for him due to the situation considering his birth.

Some of these names are similar to the Hausa unisex names most Hausa people use on their children.
