Arewa Gistlover is the latest gossip blog to burst into the scene. The gossip blog burst into the limelight in May 2022 but has since done it all. From revealing cheating men and women and sexual escapades to sensitive information about politics. It has now poised itself to be the premier gossip blog in Nigeria.
Yet the identity of the founder remains unknown. Who is behind the keyboard sharing all those information and ruining relationships? Who might be responsible for exposing the secret lifestyle of the elites?
This article aims to uncover that.
Name
First, let’s start with the name. The name ‘Arewa Gistlover’ is similar to ‘Gistlovers blog,’ a blog that does the same thing as this one. Gistlovers, who call themselves ‘Vawulence Headquarters,’ has been notorious for sharing information about celebrities’ lifestyles, most especially in southern Nigeria.
The blog has hot gist and access to what’s happening in the entertainment industry long before anyone gets wind of it. This perhaps places it as the number 1 gossip blog in Nigeria, displacing even Linda Ikeji or Instablog Naija.
This remains to be confirmed as there had been several rumors before. One thing is clear, whoever is handling has access to celebrities’ lives, just like its sister’s arm, Arewa Gistlovers.
How They Operate
Apart from the name, another feature Arewa Gistlover share is the usage of the phrase ‘the tueh’ by both sharing gossip. This further alludes to the that both are owned by one person or at least a loosely connected group of people.
Other shared terms also include; ‘Vawulence,’ ‘I come in peace, and more.
The Arewa Gistlover uses popular social media, including; Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and Telegram, with Instagram being the major one with 11k followers as of May 2022.
On Facebook, the page has 636 followers as of 23rd May and is the least active compared to the others. The Twitter account had been restricted to 1000 followers on 8th May, merely days after starting operation.
Meanwhile, the page is shifting its base of operation to Telegram, where restrictions are less tight and where they can share ‘nudes as they claim. Their official group has since gained 3k followers as of 23rd May, with over two thousand people joining alone in the first 24 hours alone.
How Arewa Gistlover They Get Their Info
Arewa Gistlover appears to get their information primarily from followers, who submit ‘receipts’ to the handler, who then ‘confirms’ them to determine whether to post them. These checks are inaccurate principally, even though they claim they don’t share negative or fake stories.
Credibility
Despite their claim of not sharing fake news, how credible are they? Can you trust them?
While we don’t know how the blog performs its ‘checks,’ everything they share is best taken with a pinch of salt.
The blog has retracted so many stories and apologized for sharing them in the first place, which puts a dent in its reputation. However, many other stories were not denied by the victims nor contested, lending some iota of truth to them.
They came out to retract those stories, which is more than most would do and is commendable enough.
They also share many juicy headlines and teases to entice readers and gain more followers and end up not releasing them, which proves they have nothing in the first place.
This could best be described as a cheap way to get attention and, as such, should be disregarded.
Location
According to the location info provided on their Twitter page, the handler or owner is located in Texas, USA. This makes them out of reach of the Nigerian authorities. This is perhaps why they share so many brazen stories, including on Nigeria’s elite, without fear of arrest.
The handler has also claimed that ‘you can’t do anything to me,’ confirming this notion. There is also the probability that the operator uses VPN and other tracking blockers to mask the location.
Now on to the big reveal.
Who is behind Arewa Gistlover?
The greatest strength (and weakness) is anonymity. While the owner remains unknown for now, it is clear it is someone with access to juicy stories concerning the elite. Like their parent arm, the Arewa Gistlover blog, whose identity remains unknown, any reveal is at best a guess and neither confirmed.
They want to keep it that way.
Just like the owner of Northern Hibiscus was revealed to be Aisha Falke or the owner of Hausa Fulani, one of the first Instagram blogs in the north now has his contact details on the page, the identity of the handler won’t remain for long.
However, they enjoy anonymity, which generates more buzz and mystery. Also, we’ve seen how other blogs like Instablog, whose identities have been unmasked, had been taken over by newer anonymous blogs.
One thing in all this is clear. The owner or handler is probably a female because of the name ‘Lady Whistledown’ on Instagram, named after the character Penelope Featherington, a popular and admired anonymous writer of a social pamphlet detailing the gossip of “the ton” in Bridgerton.
While the identity is unknown now, sooner or later, we, someone else, or the blog will reveal the real face behind the keyboard, and it won’t be funny then. We will be here with the whole gist when they do.

Safara’u kwana casa’in is how she is known. But her real name is Safeeya Yusuf. She became known by Safara’u, now shortened as Safa, because of her role in the hit political thriller Kwana casa’in on Arewa24.
But who is Safara’u kwana casa’in, and why is she making waves? Let’s find out!
Biography of Safara’u Kwana Casa’in
As mentioned earlier, her name is Safeeya Yusuf, and she was born in Jos, Plateau state on 25th June 2000, making her 22 years old as of 2022
She started acting at 18, with her debut role as Safara’u in Kwana casa’in. Her acting career began as an accident, as she only accompanied her friend to the auditions, and she ended up getting the role while her friend didn’t.
Safara’u was an obedient pious girl focused on her studies and her quest to become a doctor in the hits series. This desire came from the way her mother suffers from excruciating leg pain. On the other hand, her father wants her to get married instead.
All watchers of the series loved the character Safara’u. This all came to an end after she was removed from the series. But what exactly happened?
Why was Safara’u removed from Kwana casa’in?
The Real Reason Safara’u Was Removed from Kwana Casa’in
According to the actress, the real reason why she was removed from Kwana casa’in was that she fell ill.
“I was replaced because I was very ill when they were shooting.
They had started shooting, and I was not on the ground due to the illness, and they had no option but to replace me at that very time.
This angered the actress and revealed it would ‘cost them a lot to call her back, and she probably won’t even then. The actress was apparently angered; the studio quickly replaced her without waiting for her.
That was the actual reason she said. “This was the real reason why I was removed, not the fake news people are sharing.” She added.
The fake news she was referring to was the fact that she was removed because of an obscene video that appeared to have shown her face. This allegation remains unproven, and the studio has so far not commented on the reason for the removal.
But any chance that the departure of the actress from the series was amicable was shattered when she released her hit song, Kwalele with Mr442. In the song, the actress can be heard singing ‘I left the industry to the good for nothing,’ referring to the Kannywood industry.
While this might or not be true, the actress has bigger plans, and she knows how to achieve them. TikTok.
Safara’u Kwana Casa’in on Tiktok
From the sweet innocent actress interacting with her fans, she started in 2020, the actress has since grown to almost 200k followers on the platform. The videos she shares are mostly Tiktoks and miming songs. This was until she met Mr442 and Maddox in April 2022.
Hence began the journey of Safara’u, the musician.
Safara’u, the Musician
It all started when a video of the actress was shared on the viral platform, supposedly singing freestyle to the beat. The song, with the catchphrase Safara’u, ultimately became the now hit song Kwalelenka, featuring 442 and Maddox.
The song was released in the same April.
And from then, there was no slowing down for the musician. From performing in Sallah events to numerous videos grooving to the song, the actress did it all.
Safara’u kwana casa’in was a constant presence in Maddox, and 442’s Chilla Luxury Hotels located in No 110, Audu Bako Way, Kano room turned studio.
From there, they hatched her new song, Inda Ass which has since been released.
Music Style
The lyrics to Sfarau Kwana casa’in songs seem to have one thing in common; vulgarity.
From the title of the song, ‘inda ass,’ which is a hidden meaning of ‘Ina da ass, ba ciko bane, Allah ne ya bamu’ meaning, ‘I have an ass,’ to other explicit referrals to sex and pregnancy, the song has since had a cult following on Tiktok, where it has over 2000 videos and counting.
The featured appearances of 442, known for his vulgarity, didn’t help matters. The videos for the songs have since been shot.
And the on to the next venture.
Safara’u, the Campaigner
As the political season of 2023 draws closer, many politicians have already begun campaigning in earnest. The Gubernatorial aspirant of the APC in Kaduna state is one of those politicians.
He has already secured the services of Safara’u kwana casa’in and her co-conspirators to shoot a music video, which has since been released.
Allegations of Indecency
Apart from the allegations that she was removed from Kannywood because of an obscene video, Safara’u kwana casa’in has also been accused of indecency and promoting it.
From vulgar language to indecent dressing and even appearing in a live video with 442 at 2 am in the early morning, many wondered where her parents were.
Contrary to popular beliefs, her mother is still alive, while the status of her father is unknown, but he probably separated from her mother.
This also lends more credence to the rumor that she might be the one in the explicit video after all.
Relationship with 442?
Another allegation leveled against the actress is that she is in a relationship with the rapper 442. Checks have confirmed that not to be true.
The actress is probably in a relationship with Prince_Abdool; a photographer turned member of the Dream Chasers family.
Will Safarau Kwana Casa’in Appear in Other Kannywood Movies?
Even though Safara’u kwana casa’in has publicly severed her ties with the industry and had referred to them as ‘jobless,’ the actress has stated her desire to be a producer and director one day. Prior to that, she had already appeared in another series, ‘Kaddarar so.’
“I don’t have much to say in this regard for now. I just know I want to be a film producer and director. I am simply waiting for the right time. Everything comes with time. I love directing, and I am sure when the time comes, it will happen.” The actress declared in an interview with Daily Trust in 2021.
Perhaps we should never say never, as all things are possible. At the moment, however, it seems the actress is enjoying her newfound fame as a musician and entertainer and is making use of it to the best of her abilities.
Actress Maryam Booths had come out online to reveal her new ‘Sugar Zady.’ The actress revealed so on her Instagram page, including the picture of Abba Bichi, former Golden Eaglets player and son of the DSS boss.
The actress captioned it with “Alert Sugar Zaddy in the building. Feel free to translate it anyhow you want.” The name sugar zaddy was followed by a flower and a crown emoji, usually reserved for lovers. The actress has since deleted the post.
Before her supposed sugar Zaddy, Booth had her fair shares of dating history. The actress, who burst into the scene as a child actress with the hit movie Dijangala in 2008, has starred in more than 100 movies and is one of the most talented actresses in the industry.
Until May 12th, 2022, when the actress made the post. The fact that she isn’t afraid of showing it and that this isn’t the first time the actress is posting the young Abba proves the point. The actress had thanked Abba sometime in 2021 for the assistance he rendered to a helpless woman, and they’re not strangers.
Kannywood has had many power couples throughout the years. From Ahmad S Nuhu and Hafsat Shehu to Sani Danja and Mansura, the industry had it all. But not anymore. However, this is about to change as musician Lilin Baba is also set to wed long-time girlfriend Ummi Rahab.
While the two lovers have never hidden their love for one another on social media, it wasn’t until recently that the news became official. On her birthday in February 2022, the actor wrote on Instagram, “Na kusa in yi wuff da ke,” meaning I’ll soon marry you. referring to his beau Ummi.
The two have constantly declared their love for each other on Instagram, with Ummi at various times calling him ‘Mijina’ meaning my husband.
Lilin Baba is an actor, musician, and director in the Kannywood industry. Originally from Bama, Borno state Shuaibu Ahmad Abbas as he is known, joined the industry in 2016. Just like Mustapha Nabaraska who washed panties of leading Kannywood actresses before making it in the industry, Lilin Baba has had his fair shares of struggles in the industry. He sold ice blocks in Kano and was also in the car dealing business in Abuja.
A talented singer, Lilin Baba has already featured on tracks with industry greats Umar M Shareef, Hamisu Breaker, and more. The 30 heard old had been awarded the Arewa Best R&B Music Act of the Year by City People Entertainment Award in 2019.
He had appeared in many movies, including Hauwa Kulu and now Wuff!
Ummi Rahab Biography
Ummi Rahab, on the other hand, is a 22-year-old actress. Born Rahab Saleh Ahmed, she started her acting career at the young age of 12, staring in the movie Ummi with Adam Zango and Jamila Nagudu in 2012. The Saudi Arabian-born actress was initially prohibited from acting in the industry but was later given permission on the condition she won’t exhibit any indecent acts.
She appeared in such movies as Farin Wata Sha Kallo and now Wuff.
Timeline of Their Relationship
The duo started dating recently when Ummi Rahab was still staring in Adam Zango’s Farin Wata series. This caused a rift between the actress and Zango, who was believed to be nursing affections toward her. She was taken off the show when she refused his advances, whom she regards as a father figure and mentor.
This resulted in a massive feud between Zango, Ummi, and Lilin Baba, also a former mentee of Zango.
The two lovers didn’t let that deter them, as their love only got more robust with the two constantly professing love for each other on social media. The two have even appeared in three music videos and one series film.
